Meet the gang

Every arcade needs its regulars. Grumpy Gus, Positive Pete and Friendly Fred are always here, and the Chompies are never far behind.

The family dreamed them up together, and now they show up in games all over the arcade.

The three friends

Very different personalities, one very good friendship. Say hi, everybody!

Grumpy Gus, a green crocodile in a brown bucket hat, arms crossed

Grumpy Gus

Crocodile

Gus frowns at almost everything, from rainy days to loud music. Deep down he has a big heart, and he would never leave a friend behind, even when he grumbles about it.

  • Never without: his brown bucket hat
  • Favorite thing: peace and quiet (and cookies)
  • Catchphrase: "Hmph. Fine, I'll help."
  • Fun fact: Gus was inspired by Big Kid, one of the arcade's makers.
Positive Pete, a smiling penguin wearing a yellow knitted scarf

Positive Pete

Penguin

Pete finds the bright side of everything. Lost a race? Great practice! Snowstorm? Snow forts for everyone! His cheering is how the gang keeps going.

  • Never without: his cozy yellow scarf
  • Favorite thing: making new friends
  • Catchphrase: "We've totally got this!"
Friendly Fred, a grinning orange fox in a green knitted sweater

Friendly Fred

Fox

Fred is quick, clever and the first to say hello. Fred always has a plan, loves an adventure, and somehow gets Gus and Pete to agree on things.

  • Never without: the green sweater
  • Favorite thing: exploring somewhere new
  • Catchphrase: "Follow me, I know a shortcut!"

The Chompies

The hungriest creatures in the arcade.

A fuzzy purple Chompy with big round eyes and a wide toothy grin

Chompies

Round, fuzzy, purple and always hungry, Chompies will chase anything that looks like a snack: bananas, fruit, cookies, even your lunch. They're more silly than scary, but you still don't want one sneaking up behind you!

  • Best known for: that giant toothy grin
  • Weakness: they can't swim, and fruit fills them right up
  • Where to find them: sneaking into games all over the arcade
